If you are one of the hoards of PS3 owners that were excited by Netflix announced streaming would be coming to the game console, today is the big day friends. Netflix has announced that its streaming service is now officially live on the PS3. I hope you ordered your PS3 Netflix disc.

The service is available free to all Netflix subscribers and allows you to watch on demand programming on your TV via the PS3 just like the Xbox 360 bragged about not long ago. The catch with the PS3 service is that you need that Blu-ray disc from Netflix.

The disc is available free and if you don’t have a Netflix account you can get one for only $8.99 per month that includes unlimited streaming. The streaming feature is possible via the BD-Live feature the PS3 supports. Way to skirt that exclusive streaming clause with Microsoft Netflix!

The Samsung i5700 Spica (aka Galaxy Lite) may still be some way off – early 2010, in fact, if the rumors are to be believed – but that hasn’t stopped some pre-production units arriving into hands early.  ai.rs have managed to acquire a device and, after masking what we’re assuming is a carrier logo, have made a video preview.

The Spica has an AMOLED touchscreen, like its I7500 sibling, but – in this pre-production model at least – less space for software.  In fact, Samsung have allowed just 100MB for apps, something we’re hoping will be rectified before the Spica’s release.

Otherwise, the lime green battery cover has been replaced by a far more sensible – and fingerprint resistant – matte black panel.  More sensible, certainly, than ai.rs’ choice of music for their video.

Google has previously promised that 20 new Android handsets are coming to market this year. The year is drawing to a close so the new introductions are coming at an intense pace. The latest Android handset to tip up is the HELLOMOTODROID. Yes, that is apparently the name. I am sure it will go by Droid though. The very brief video is poorly lit and offers no details.

Basically, the video is perfect teaser fodder. The first ten or so seconds of the video shows us nothing, and then we see a pulsing red eye that looks like a Cylon shorting out. In the last few seconds of the video, we see the screen and the OS of the device showing the vid was shot yesterday.

The robot sounding voice that says DROID on boot up is really cool, I wonder that is actually part of the phones boot process or just a gimmick for the video. That is all the info we get, I told you the video was brief.
